My dark elf (darnen) character Shyntlyn Zauana, in the dark elven assassin (Del'Ren) Armor. The Del'Ren, or Black Blood, is an ancient organization of darnen assassins that protect the High Family of Shaternal (my fictional underground realm). The High Family enlist a few chosen to act as personal assassins and guards to protect them, or to eliminate enemies. The Del'Ren is controlled by a Zalahnin, or Master Assassin. It is he/she who speaks to the current High King/Queen, and sends out a chosen assassin to perform the deed.

Shyntlyn became a Del'Ren assassin when he was only ninteen years of age. After living on the streets for five years after the brutal murder of his family, Shyntlyn picked the pocket of Zalas Neryn, the current Zalahnin of the Del'Ren. Shyntlyn fled the scene with his new coins with Zalas unaware of what had taken place. An onlooker, though, informed Zalas that he had been robbed, and instantly gave chase. Zalas of course found Shyntlyn, but rather than turning the street urchin into the authorities, Zalas saw Shyntlyn's skills, and took him under his wing.

The Del'Ren Armor is made from the leather hides of lame lizard mounts, and the lizards come in a variety of blacks and browns. The armor is fashioned to the wearer's liking, so no piece of armor is similar, but they are all light in weight. The weapons range from crystal to silver blades of any weight and size (Shyntlyn has a silver ninjato, but the scanner ate it). All the assassins weild bows, but since there is no wood in Shaternal, they are made of cured bone. Shyntlyn carries several throwing knives on him at all times, and he wears a cloak that has a scarf to hide his face if he wishes.
